Success Story: Space Boy UK

Space Boy UK is a streetwear and fashion retailer based in Bristol, specialising in rare sneakers and limited edition clothing. The business was founded by local musician Ash Brown, and first opened as an online store in 2021.

Space Boy was named after Ash’s favourite film, Space Jam, the 90’s classic staring basketball icon Michael Jordan. Coincidentally, or probably not, Space Boy is now the largest stockist of rare Jordan’s in the city. In October 2021, Ash moved into a small retail space on Bedminster Parade in South Bristol, but quickly started to outgrow the available space. The business was trading well but Ash realised that he needed a larger retail premises to allow Space Boy to grow further. 

Ash approached BCDF in July 2022 as he needed investment to secure a larger retail premises in the highly sought after Cabot Circus shopping centre, in central Bristol.
